Grand Forks Red River Wins Class A Boys Golf State Title

DICKINSON, N.D. – A big second day at Heart River Golf Course helped Grand Forks Red River to their second straight NDHSAA Class A boys golf state championship on Wednesday, June 6.

Red River opened the day trailing Fargo Davies by six shots. The Roughriders rallied and made up 17 shots to clinch a state title by 11 strokes. Red River was 5-over as a team for the two-day tournament.

Leading the way for Red River was senior Adam Von Raden who shot a two-day, 4-under 140 for medalist honors. Von Raden was the Day 1 leader shooting a 3-under 69.

Red River’s Mat Halvorson was runner up shooting a Day 2 score of 70 to finish the tournament with a 1-over 145.

Fargo Davies was team runner up. West Fargo took third.
