Bismarck St. Mary's earns NDHSAA Division AA Football Title

FARGO – Bismarck St. Mary’s continued its recent success at the Dakota Bowl on Friday, November 10 at the Fargodome.

The Saints defeated Fargo Shanley 31-12 in the North Dakota High School Activities Association Division AA football state championship game during Dakota Bowl XXV.

St. Mary’s led 14-0 at halftime after playing to a 0-0 draw after the first quarter.

The Saints grabbed the lead when senior quarterback Cole Gendreau ran in a 5-yard score on a keeper. Senior running back Jonah Krebs followed with a one year touchdown as time expired in the first half.

Krebs rushed for 78 yards and two touchdowns for the Saints. Gendreau was 14-for-22 passing for 167 yards and a touchdown.

The Deacons were led by Cade Busek, who rushed for 96 yards. Cam Saville and Mile Wosick each caught touchdowns for the Deacons.

The Division AA state title is the Saints’ fourth in five seasons (2013, 2014, 2016, 2017).

The Saints finish the season 9-2 while the Deacons end on a 10-1 mark.
