Minot boys, Bismarck Century girls top Class A Basketball Polls

VALLEY CITY, N.D. – The first North Dakota Class A boys and girls basketball polls of the 2017-18 season were released Wednesday, December 6.

The Class A boys and girls basketball polls are voted on by members of the North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association (NDAPSSA).

Three-time defending Class A boys basketball state champion Minot (2-0) took the top spot in the Week 1 poll earning nine of the 15 first-place votes.

Fargo Davies – ranked No. 2 – garnered five first-place votes. The Eagles opened the season with a 71-61 win over Jamestown.

Mandan received the other first-place vote in the boys poll. The Braves defeated Bismarck Century 63-58 on Tuesday, December 5.

In the Class A girls poll, Bismarck Century took the top spot receiving 11 first-place votes.

Fargo Davies received three first-place votes and open the year ranked No. 2.

Shanley, Devils Lake and Mandan rounded out the Top 5.
