NDHSAA Board of Directors approves election of five new members for the 2024-25 school year

NDHSAA NEWS RELEASE - January 19, 2024

VALLEY CITY, N.D. – The North Dakota High School Activities Association Board of Directors approved the election of five new board members for the 2024-25 school year during a meeting held January 18.

Ryan Hanson, Devils Lake High School Principal, was elected as the Class A At Large Representative.

Chad Berger, Principal & Athletic Director at Napoleon High School, was elected as the Class B Southeast Representative.

Jason Simpfenderfer, Beulah High School Athletic Director, was elected as the North Dakota Interscholastic Athletic Administrator Association (NDIAAA) Representative.

Travis Christensen, Fargo North High School Principal, was elected as the North Dakota Association of Secondary School Principals (NDASSP) Representative.

Wayne Fox, White Shield Superintendent, was elected as the Native American At Large Representative.

Ballots were distributed to member schools following the October 2023 NDHSAA Membership Meeting and were tallied via electronic ballot on January 18. NDHSAA Board Members serve four-year terms.

Hanson will replace Josh Johnson (Superintendent of Schools in Valley City) as Class A At Large Representative.

Berger will replace Rick Diegel (Superintendent of Schools in Kidder County and Linton) as the Class B Southeast representative.

Simpfenderfer will replace Guy Fridley (Athletic Director at Dickinson High School) as the North Dakota Interscholastic Athletic Administrator Association (NDIAAA) Representative.

Christensen will serve the final year of a four-year term for the North Dakota Association of Secondary School Principals (NDASSP). Ryan Hanson, Devils Lake High School Principal, served the third year of the current NDASSP four-year term that was vacated by previous representative Ned Clooten, who served the first two years of the current term.

Fox will serve the first four-year term of newly created Native American At Large representative on the NDHSAA Board of Directors.
