NDHSAA June Board Meeting Recap

VALLEY CITY, N.D. – The North Dakota High School Activities Association’s Board of Directors met Monday and Tuesday June 11-12.

Highlights of the meeting included the Board approving the distribution of $250K in team payments to its member schools. The NDHSAA is a non-profit organization and once operating costs are covered the remaining money is distributed to member schools through a team payment plan.

Other highlights included:

  • Referring the three-class plan for boys and girls basketball and volleyball brought forth by Wahpeton and Fairmount School Administrators to the Board’s Realignment Committee for further discussion.

  • The Board approved 2019 region and state tournament sites for spring sports and activities.

  • The Board approved several items from Athletic Review highlighted by the Class A boys basketball shot clock being changed from 35 seconds to 30 seconds.

The NDHSAA Board of Directors nominated and selected Ben Schafer, Superintendent at Ray Public School, as its President for the 2018-19 school year. Scott Privratsky, Superintendent at Devils Lake Public Schools was nominated and selected as Vice President in 2018-19.
