Bismarck Century grad Cara Mund named Miss America

VALLEY CITY, N.D. – Cara Mund, a 2012 Bismarck Century graduate, was crowned Miss America Sunday Night, September 10 in Atlantic City, N.J.

Mund, 23, is a native of Bismarck and is the first Miss North Dakota ever to be named Miss America. Her platform is “A Make-A-Wish Passion with Fashion” and has raised $78,500 for the charity by organizing/hosting annual Make-A-Wish fashion shows in North Dakota since she was 14.

Mund is a Brown University graduate and will receive a $50,000 scholarship. She plans on attending law school at Notre Dame.
