  • The Bismarck Blizzard defeated Fargo North 1-0 in three overtimes during the 2006 NDHSAA girls hockey state championship game.

  • West Fargo defeated the Bismarck Blizzard 2-1 in the 2014 NDHSAA girls hockey state championship game.

  • Grand Forks Red River won three straight NDHSAA boys hockey state championships from 1996-98.

  • Grand Forks Central defeated Bismarck 3-0 in the 2010 NDHSAA boys hockey state championships game.

  • Watford City won three straight NDHSAA Class B team individual wrestling state championships from 1972-74.

  • Minot High has won seven Class A team individual wrestling state championships (1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1993, 2017).

  • Gerald Brown of Minot High holds the boys swimming state record for the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 51.16 seconds set in the prelims of the 2017 state meet.

  • Mandan has won three NDHSAA boys swimming and diving team state championships (1995, 1997, 1998).

  • Since 1975, Minot High has won 24 NDHSAA boys swimming and diving team state championships most recently in 2018.

  • Loren Sether (Bismarck Century) holds the boys swimming state record in the 200 Yard Individual Medley with a time of 1 minute, 53.36 seconds set in the prelims of the 2015 state meet.
